Alice Strachan
Senior Practice Facilitator
I am an experienced Consultant, Facilitator, Curriculum Designer, Mediator, and Trainer with a career spanning the not-for-profit, healthcare, and public service sectors. My work is grounded in evidence-based methodologies and a deep commitment to quality decision-making. As a Certified Professional Facilitator and award-winning trainer, I have a long track record of leading complex discussions, supporting diverse stakeholder groups, and enabling organizations to achieve clarity and consensus. I am also one of the few LEGO® Serious Play® Master Facilitators in Canada, bringing a creative and structured approach to problem-solving, strategic planning, and systems thinking.
My professional designations—including Improvement Advisor Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution—strengthen my ability to analyze processes, identify root causes, and support fair, transparent, and well-reasoned outcomes.
I began my career as a practice facilitator in Ontario 25 years ago and have been privileged to be a support to the healthcare system through this involvement. I believe in the power of the wisdom of the group and that by holding space where people can have conversations about the improvements they would love to see I can be a catalyst for change.
In my personal life I am a continuous learner and am currently on a journey to master pickleball. I enjoy the outdoors, horseback riding, long distance cycling and also sew memory quilts in my spare time. I live near the Toronto airport and can be found walking my golden retriever around our neighborhood most evenings. I volunteer as a Crisis Textline Responder (I have taken almost 3000 test conversations with individuals in crisis) and also am a member of two national boards of directors and one provincial board focused in sport. My three children are grown and (almost) flown so lots of time for travel with my spouse.
