Heather is a licensed Occupational Therapist with more than 20 years of experience in the health and wellness sector. She holds degrees in Biology and Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University and is a Certified Prosci Change Management Practitioner, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and Working Minds Instructor.
Her expertise includes health system transformation, mental health and addictions, trauma-informed care, behaviour change, system navigation, adult education, provider education, and program development. Heather has worked as a consultant specializing in system-level behaviour change and change leadership, and in clinical roles supporting seniors, adults, and children. She has also operated a private practice focused on strengthening organizational capacity in mental health, wellness, facilitation, and change leadership.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys biking, kayaking, yoga, and ocean swimming. She's a mom of two, the owner of three beloved cats, and a frequent foster cat mom. She is excited to bring her experience and passion to the HIG team.
