John Kovach, MA
Senior Data Analyst
John developed a strong technical foundation through IMIT roles early in his career that included hardware repair, desktop support, helpdesk services, and backend office and domain management within a Microsoft enterprise environment. Today, John uses his advanced skills in MS Excel to help teams and organizations track and analyze newly collected data within customized spreadsheet tools. John is a people-person at heart and has always believed that the people, process and organizational need are what truly drives the technology.

This focus led John into several consultative and business analytics roles at local, regional, and provincial levels in Alberta’s primary health care system. Through this work John was able to build skills and experience in frontline change management, facilitation, and quality improvement to meaningfully contribute to measurement, strategy, policy, governance, and business planning activities that helped to shape the trajectory of primary care in Alberta.

During his time working in primary care John completed a Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership, which fully embedded him as a systems thinker who has a deep appreciation for the complexity and interconnectedness of the health ecosystem. Above all, John values thoughtful collaboration, purposeful change, and work that strengthens the systems and people who rely on them. He views collaboration as essential—particularly in health care, where outcomes emerge through collective effort.

Outside of healthcare, John stays busy pursuing his other passion running his small irrigation grain farm in southern Alberta.
